stock-photo-two-young-pretty-asian-muslim-business-woman-in-head-scarf-with-book-and-laptop-92084960The Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) is a global qualification offered by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI) that covers Islamic finance from both a technical and a Sharia’a perspective, providing the first international benchmark in the area of Islamic finance. It provides an understanding of the influence of Sharia’h in a business context and prepares candidates to hold key positions in the Islamic finance industry.


The Islamic Finance Qualification is regulated by Ofqual as the Level 3 Certificate in Islamic
Finance (IFQ).

This qualification is regulated by Ofqual as a level 3 qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

Success in this qualification carries with it 13 RQF credits.

HAD Support

The course is delivered over 24 contact hours by CISI accredited trainers at HAD.

Learners will be required to attend 6 morning interactive learning sessions in addition to self-study of the IFQ handbook (available at CISI).

The qualification is achieved by successfully passing a multiple-choice question exam (after registration with the CISI).

Najib Al Aswad, Associate Director, IFAAS Group

Najib is a seasoned professional with extensive expertise across various sectors of the Islamic financial services industry. Currently as an Associate Director at IFAAS Group, he is leading many pioneering Islamic finance projects spread from the US to Singapore.

He has advised key stakeholders including regulatory authorities on developing Islamic finance infrastructure in a number of jurisdictions. He has also developed many Islamic financial products, designed Shariah governance frameworks, evaluated & assessed Shariah non-compliance risks and delivered specialised capacity building programmes to a number of market players including Islamic banks and windows, ReTakaful providers, Microfinance companies and Islamic funds.

Najib is an AAOIFI Certified Shariah Adviser & Auditor (CSAA – Bahrain), an AAOIFI Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA – Bahrain) and an Accredited Trainer by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI – UK) for the Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ). He also holds a Master’s degree (MSc) in Islamic finance from the renowned Durham University (UK).
