Sameen holds a PhD in Development Economics and a MSc in Economics from the University of Nottingham She has worked with Islamic Relief’s Waqf Department to produce a paper titled ‘The validity and viability of a banking model, based on Islamic endowment (Awqaf) in Muslim minority countries (such as UK).’
She brings with her vast international experience in research, consultancy and policy-making. She also has an extensive experience of teaching various subjects in economics and development studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the UK and internationally.
Sameen has also been involved in numerous high-profile research projects ranging from a DFID-funded project on Pakistan’s growth to formulating a national technology policy and has also worked with the International Cocoa Initiative in Switzerland.
