Sawsan Abou Zainedin

Sawsan received a Chevening scholarship to complete a MSc in Urban Development Planning at University College London. After graduating from the Faculty of Architecture at Aleppo University in 2010, she began working as an architect and an urban designer for several companies in Syria and the United Arab Emirates.
Sawsan was involved in several grassroots initiatives, focusing in particular on raising awareness, detainee support and relief and aid activities that target displaced people in and out of the Syrian borders. Futhermore, she was involved with the Syrian Association of Preservation for Archaeology and Heritage, aiming to protect and preserve Syria’s historical heritage in conflict zones.
