Shabaana Kidy


Shabaana has a keen interest in food security and livelihoods, and has conducted research looking into the potential for value chain upgrading within sugar production in southern rural Malawi.

She has also worked on tax justice, and previous research she has been involved in working with the Global Justice Program at Yale University in the USA  looked at Illicit Financial Flows and their associated impact on developing country economies.

Shabaana has travelled to Morocco, India and Malawi for research, advocacy and programmatic work – working particularly with youth and marginalised communities, and is able to speak basic French and Spanish. She has completed an MSc in Development Management from the University of Birmingham.
