Attawia earned his medical degree at Cairo University College of Medicine and his master’s degree in biomedical sciences at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Dr Attawia spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at MIT-Harvard Division of Health Sciences and Technology before joining Allegheny University as an assistant professor and deputy director of the Center of Advanced Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering. Later, he was appointed as an associate professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Drexel University. He is the chief executive officer at CuraCell and is an active member of the Muslim community in the US.

Dr Kasim Randeree, JP

 Dr Kasim Randeree is Associate Professor in Business Management at Coventry University, UK and has over twenty-five years of experience in the education and charity sectors. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1993 and PhD degree 1999 from the University of Hull, UK and he further holds a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies from the University of Wales. Kasim specialises in the Islamic economy, focussing on developing economiesemerging markets and international development and he was formerly the Head of Research & Development at Islamic Relief Academy and Senior Policy Advisor at Islamic Relief Worldwide. 

 Kasim is an award-winning author and has a publication record of over one hundred journal articles and other publications, as well as several booksbook chapters and monographs. He has editorial responsibilities with a number of academic journals and has worked with institutions including the University of Oxford, Harvard University and Georgetown University; and has received wide-ranging international development funding from, for example, the Department for International Development (DfID, UK Government) and The Qatar Foundation. He is certified Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE), awarded by the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS). In voluntary public service, Kasim joined the Board of Trustees of HAD in 2018 and is also Justice of the Peace sitting as a criminal magistrate in Birmingham Magistrates’ Court, UK.

Dr Aqsa Aziz

Dr Aqsa Aziz is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has over 15 years experience of working in the Higher Education sector. She is a Course Director for Undergraduate Finance degrees at Coventry University and teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students.  

Dr Aziz specialises in Islamic Finance and has designed an MSc in Islamic Finance and helped to design and deliver the Islamic Finance Management Development programme for banking professionals in partnership with Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF).   

Dr Aziz has a Masters in Islamic Banking, Finance and Management from the University of Gloucestershire and a PhD from the University of Manchester.
