HAD Board
HAD board (sub-committee of IRW Board of Trustees (BOT)) directs and oversees the organisation in accordance with IRW statutory obligations, focusing on strategic planning and governance. As a subcommittee, HAD board is accountable to IRW BOT.

Dr Mohamed Amr
Chair of HAD Board
Dr Amr earned his medical degree at Cairo University College of Medicine and his master’s degree in biomedical sciences at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Dr Amr spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at MIT-Harvard Division of Health Sciences and Technology before joining Allegheny University as an assistant professor and deputy director of the Center of Advanced Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering. Later, he was appointed as an associate professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Drexel University. He is the chief executive officer at CuraCell and is an active member of the Muslim community in the US.

Dr Kasim Randeree, JP

Dr Randeree is Associate Professor in Business Management at Coventry University and has over 25 years of experience in the education and charity sector. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1993 and a PhD in 1999 from the University of Hull and he further holds a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies from the University of Wales. Dr Randeree specialises in the Islamic economy, focusing on developing economies, emerging markets and international development. He was formerly the Head of Research & Development at IRA and Senior Policy Advisor at IRW.
Dr Randeree is an award-winning author and has a publication record of over 100 journal articles and other publications, such as books and monographs. He has editorial responsibilities of academic journals and has worked with institutions like; University of Oxford, Harvard University and Georgetown University. He has received international development funding from the Department for International Development and The Qatar Foundation. He is a certified Senior Fellow of The Higher Education Academy and a Certified Management and Business Educator, awarded by the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS). In voluntary public service, Dr Randeree joined the Board of Trustees of HAD in 2018 and is also Justice of the Peace sitting as a criminal magistrate in Birmingham Magistrates’ Court.

Dr Aqsa Aziz

Dr Aziz is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has over 15 years experience of working in the Higher Education sector. She is a Course Director for Undergraduate Finance degrees at Coventry University and teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Dr Aziz specialises in Islamic Finance and has designed an MSc in Islamic Finance and helped to design and deliver the Islamic Finance Management Development programme for banking professionals in partnership with Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF).
Dr Aziz has a Masters in Islamic Banking, Finance and Management from the University of Gloucestershire and a PhD from the University of Manchester.
