Ari’s 18 year journey within the humanitarian sector started in Iraq with Handicap International, Mines Advisory Group (MAG), UNOPS and Heartland Alliance for Human Needs and Human Rights. After completing his Masters degree in Health Management, Planning and Policy from the University of Leeds in 2007, Ari joined IRW in the Head Office as Regional Desk Coordinator for the Middle East region (Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Egypt and Jordan) and later was appointed as the Endowment Funds Manager before moving to HAD to take up the position of Head of Business Development and later as the Operations Director.
Before relocating to the UK, Ari was the Programme Associate for Heartland Alliance for Human Needs and Human Rights programme in IRAQ.
Ari graduated as a Medical Doctor from Salahaddine University – Iraq in 1995, obtained Postgraduate Diploma in Dermatology from Queen’s Mary University of London and is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK. He spends few days a week in New Cross Hospital besides working within the development sector.
