HAD win the Princess Royal Training Awards 2018

In partnership with IRUK, our ground-breaking Volunteer Leadership programme won the 2018 Princess Royal Training Award. What a fantastic achievement – the first-ever humanitarian organisation to gain this royal recognition!

A team from HAD and IRUK went to the palace to receive the award from Princess Anne in person. Now in its third year, the programme goes from strength to strength and is showing a valuable impact on both the organisation and the participants. A huge well done to all of our participants and to our programme leads!

This programme has greatly improved volunteer retention and has produced a winner of the Volunteer of the Year Award, along with several participants who became Chairs of committees and also became IRUK employees as a result of the programme. The VLP programme that won this award saw that fundraising events which have benefitted from the input of VLP graduates have typically seen 50% increases in income.
