Research and Practice

Research and Practice

At HAD we believe that our work as humanitarian and development practitioners benefits from practice-relevant research. Our research priorities are informed by the needs of practitioners and the communities they serve, and the findings of the research we conduct feeds back into the work of practitioners and policy-makers in the sector. We bring together researchers, practitioners, policymakers and civil society. With a view to constantly improve our work, we look into how research can best be mainstreamed into operations, so that we support those working with beneficiaries in the best way possible.

Topics may include:

· Opportunities and challenges of conducting practice-relevant research

· How best to mainstream research into operations

· Building strong alliances between researchers, practitioners, policy-makers and civil society

· Conducting research in conflict-afflicted and developing countries

· Building the research capacity of development and humanitarian aid practitioners
