  تعتبر اإلغاثة اإلسالمية من أكبر المؤسسات التي تقوم بتقديم التمويل بصيغ تتالئم مع الشريعة اإلسالمية في قطاع غزة، حيث قامت بتأسيس برنامج تنمية المشاريع الصغيرة جدًا في العام 1998 بهدف مساعدة ذوي الدخل المحدود من أصحاب المشاريع الصغيرة لتطوير مشاريعهم أو البدء بمشاريع جديدة مدرة للدخل وذلك لتحسين دخلهم ومساعدتهم على توفير سبل العيش الكريمة. وتسعى اإلغاثة اإلسالمية إلتباع أفضل الممارسات في التمويل األصغر وتسعى للوصول ألكبر عدد ممكن من الفقراء وذوي الدخل المحدود، يقوم برنامج تنمية المشاريع الصغيرة جدًا بتمويل المشاريع الصغيرة باستخدام صيغتين من صيغ التمويل اإلسالمي المتنوعة وهما المرابحة والقرض الحسن، وبلغ عدد المشاريع الممولة منذ بدأ عمل البرنامج عمله 2434 مشروع، بقيمة 7,029,577 دوالر امريكي Islamic Relief is considered a large institution that provides finance in adherence to Islamic law in the Gaza Strip. The Islamic Relief Micro Enterprise Program was launched in 1998 with the aim of improving people’s livelihood and providing them with decent living conditions by supporting low-income micro-entrepreneurs to develop their own businesses, or funding the establishment of new business start ups in order to create new jobs and create economic opportunities.

Islamic Relief ensures it adapts to the best Islamic practices in micro finance, as well as accessing and targeting the largest possible number of poor and low-income people. The Micro Enterprises Program adapts two Muslim funding formulas; Murabaha loan and Al Kard Al Hassan. The Program so far has supported 2434 business start ups with a total budget of $7029577.

Dedicated alleviating the suffering of the world’s poorest people An inauguration ceremony was arranged in village Zara Miana, district Nowshera to hand over 200 permanent shelters built for flood-hit families. A large number of people from all walks of life, especially the community attended the ceremony. Under the Nowshera Integrated Village Rehabilitation Programme (NIVRP) funded by Islamic Relief USA was implemented in village Zara Miana benefitting the flood-affected community. One school was also rehabilitated which help the girls continue their education. Moreover, 112 hygiene promotion sessions, school cleanliness campaigns and awareness sessions were conducted for the communities. Under Nowshera Integrated Village Rehabilitation Programme (NIVRP), Islamic Relief started activities through participatory development approach, formation of COs and sub-COs (livelihood, shelter & WASH) and regular meetings were conducted with community members to ensure transparency in the implementation of the project.   The deterioration occurring in the infrastructure of Iraq during the last 20 years, especially in Water and Sanitation sectors (which are most important sectors) has created a major health problem. The unavailability of spare parts and cash for repairs and setting up new network systems, as well frequent electrical cuts reaching up to 10 hours a day, have led to further deterioration in this vital sector. The predicament is aggregated due to the exodus of qualified technical staff due to bad security situations and continuous displacing, lack of incentives, and replacements are unqualified to run this kind of facilities. This led to further problems and damages to the working life of the equipment used. Also there is an urgent need for training of operating staff in this sector.
