Overview

HAD works with organisations to develop capacity strengthening plans tailored specifically to address their needs, usually immediately following a needs assessment during which capacity gaps were identified. This is a collaborative and guided process rather than instructed, and can be conducted face-to-face, remotely, or through a hybrid approach.

Main objectives

  • To develop a plan to address specific areas for development identified by a needs assessment.

  • To tailor the capacity building plan to each organisation through a participatory approach.

What it includes

Needs assessment

The first step towards producing a tailored capacity building plan is to conduct a needs assessment.

Tailored capacity strengthening plan

Interventions are recommended to address an organisation’s capacity gaps identified during the needs assessment. HAD engages in in-depth discussions with the organisation that serve to clarify the suitability of the proposed interventions and determine how they can best be adapted to the organisation’s area of work, context, and other preferences, ensuring that the organisation has full ownership of its capacity strengthening plan.

Who is this service for?

  • Organisations that have completed a needs assessment and need guidance on how to strengthen their capacity.
