Climate change is the defining human development challenge of our time. It threatens to stall poverty reduction and hard-earned progress made in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). It requires knowledge, skills and resources to adapt to the changing climate.

Throughout South Asia, the early signs of climate change are already visible. Out of the last 12 years of the last century, 11 were the hottest of the last 400 years where temperatures in Pakistan reached 53 degree Celsius and in Finland 37 degrees Celsius. These changes are already threatening the lives and livelihoods of millions of individuals.

This study investigates the impact of climate change on the farming communities in four selected districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province of Pakistan. The study was conducted in the 16 villages of the four selected districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province of Pakistan. These districts were selected on the basis of their location, which is always exposed to natural disasters and calamities like heavy rains, floods and earthquakes.
