Humanitarian Update February 2014 Syria Key Facts

• 3 million people require humanitarian assistance (OCHA,2013)

• 5 million people are internally displaced in Syria
• 4000 schools have been destroyed (UNICEF, December 2013)

By the end of 2013, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights had recorded 130,433 casualties – at least one-third of whom were civilians (Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Press release, 1 January 2014.)
