Building the Capacity of NGOs HAD has been busy over the past few years delivering vital institutional strengthening and capacity building programmes to local NGOs from across the globe. Our work has ranged from delivering practical skills-based training, to providing more holistic institutional development in areas such as leadership, programme management, and financial sustainability. Last year, with the support of Islamic Relief, we the Humanitarian Academy for Development (HAD), kicked off a series of 5 taster workshops both in-person and virtually across several major UK cities with. The sessions aimed to boost the competency of UK mosques and campaign groups in their daily activities and included training on topics such as bid writing, safeguarding, finance for non-finance managers, governance and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As we bid farewell to 2023, we take immense pride in the significant achievement of delivering comprehensive training to 3,340 humanitarians, fostering a community dedicated to making a positive impact. Through 38 face-to-face sessions and 30 remote engagements, we have equipped individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the challenges of humanitarian work effectively. Our commitment to serving the community and the Islamic Relief family remains unwavering.
