Re-building Syria 2019: HAD continues its capacity building of Syrian NGOs, delivering Project Management for Development Professionals (PMD Pro) Level 1 training

Ensuring relevance to the sector and adding value to day to day work, we delivered our PMD Pro training to a number of NGOs in Jeddah who work with large portfolios. The aim of this project was to help them to improve their efficiency and effectiveness regarding the projects they are managing, aiding in improving the services they are providing to the vulnerable during the ongoing conflict in Syria.

More often than not training humanitarians working in these conditions- one course is not enough, however with over 60 years of programmes experience between the participants, this important training coupled with their valuable experience in programmes, was a perfect cocktail to ensuring the training was fruitful and impactful.

Outcomes:

  • Managing humanitarian projects in a more informed, controlled and ultimately a more cost-effective way and in the process reduce stress in crisis
  • To deploy the principles, phases and disciplines for improved projects in their work
  • Adapting the PMD Pro to the context of their work

“I have been to so many trainings in my life and the trainer always starts by saying that it will be engaging and practical. Well, this is the first training which has lived up to this. Excellent!”
