How does the UNHCR intervene to reduce Gender Based Violence?

Gender based violence violates human rights. The UNHCR in cooperation with the hosting country are responsible for guaranteeing that migrants and asylum seekers are provided with the protection needed as a preventive strategy to minimize being subject to gender base violence.

The UNHCR funds different activities in Tunisia that aims at reducing violence through partnering with different organisations such as: Tunisian Red Crescent, Islamic Relief, and other related organisations.

The UNHCR aims to engage all refuge segments in its activities. Gender sensitivity and holding projects accountable in all sectors is one of the things that the UNHCR confirms while implementing their projects.
