MISSION: INTERNING WITH HAD’S FABULOUS MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION
DURATION: 2 MONTHS

“Interning with HAD felt like a great way to round off the academic year and kick-start the next! Taking on new challenges, I was able to develop both personally and professionally throughout my internship.”

I am a BSc (Hons) Politics with Economics undergraduate at the University of Bath.

As part of my undergraduate degree, I opted to complete a one-year placement. Having gained experience in content writing and in community development work during the year, I felt that an internship with HAD would be a great way to round off the year.

Understanding business strategy and marketing from a humanitarian perspective has been invaluable in developing my appreciation of the sector as a whole. I have gained a strategic awareness and an understanding of key marketing strategies. I was also given great responsibility and have benefited from having independence and leeway while also having support and feedback, which allowed me to gain confidence in my abilities. For instance, I have seen my written skills develop tremendously.

Furthermore, this internship has enabled me to develop an idea of what I want to do with my future. Enabling me to see where my strengths lie, where my weaknesses are and where I need to focus for my development has been incredibly insightful. Ultimately, this internship has equipped me with the necessary skills and capabilities to maintain a good working mindset for the final year of my studies and for the years to come. Thus, putting me in good stead for the future, this HAD internship has been an invaluable experience for my development.
